Running

Running with SportsDo helps me achieve my goals – and it's easy and fun.

With SportsDo on my phone, I've always got my own personal trainer and entertainer with me. I like to start up my music player and then fire up SportsDo with the voice announcements turned on, so I can listen to my favourite songs while hearing regular progress reports.

While I'm running, I can easily switch between the big “dashboard” readouts of my speed, distance and pace, or flick into the all-stats summary. The GPS system grabs the information and SportsDo works it all out.

Training

Right now I'm training for the local charity 10K run, so I'm working on my intervals. I can press “new lap” as I switch between jog and sprint, and SportsDo saves my stats for each interval.

SportsDo allows my friends and family standing in the crowd to know exactly where I am. Using text buddies I can select people to automatically receive progress texts at regular intervals meaning they'll never end up waiting at the 6 mile point when I'm already at 8 miles again.

Review

When I've finished my session, I press “stop run” and all my activity data is there on my phone, ready for me to review. I can scroll through the log, or check instant graphs of my performance. There's even a neat route map showing where I've just run, with colour-coded segments showing my speed.

Stats

I usually upload my session stats to the SportsDo portal at the end of the day. But for the 10K itself, my running club friends and I will be using SportsDo Live to transmit our progress in real time to the web so everyone can see how we do. That ought to show our sponsors that we're doing our bit! My grandma will even get a text message on her phone at every kilometre.

Sharing

Of course, SportsDo isn't just for training and racing. I also use it when I'm running for pleasure in interesting places.

What I particularly love is that I can take pictures while I'm running, and they automatically get loaded into my SportsDo portal log – and pinned to the map position where I took them. I don't have to do a thing – SportsDo records and organises my whole experience for me. So I can enjoy both my running and my memories.
